• Pigment Holding: Its unique texture provides excellent grip, enabling artists to build up multiple layers of pastel without saturating the surface, enhancing textural effects. 
• Versatility: The surface is compatible with various pastel mediums, including soft pastels, hard pastels, and pastel pencils, as well as pan pastels. 
• Durability: Pastelgrain is a resistant, heavyweight card (360gsm) that can withstand rubbing and wet techniques, such as underpaintings with water, alcohol, or solvents, and dries flat. 
• Water Resistance: The paper is water-resistant and absorbent, but unlike some sanded papers, it doesn't produce drips when wet.
